Churchlist.com

September 24, 2009

Move over Craigslist!  A new site targeted at Churches and Christians in general is now active online.  Churchlist.com  is an online classified ads site that targets churches.  Specifically, it is offering a forum for church leaders to buy and sell church equipment, supplies, and anything else unique to churches.  However, the website also offers: church members a venue for buying and selling their items, church employment, and a general church listing for people looking for a church home.

Churchlist.com is brand new, so it is looking for people to start posting items.  Go through your church closets and find those gems that you never use.  You never know, it might be someone else’s treasure.  You can offer items for free or with a price.  Post something.  Buy something.  If you want to advertise your business or church, of course that is an option also.

They are adding cities as needed. So, if you want your city listed, send them an email.  You can also post your city here.  I have a feeling they might be looking at this blog.

Thanks!

San Marcos Prayer for Rain

August 18, 2009

Several local pastors have planned a City-Wide Prayer for Rain at the Pavilion in City Park.  August 31, 7:30pm

Pastors and city leaders will be leading the gathering in prayers specifically targeted at breaking the drought over San Marcos.  All churches are welcome to attend.  Let’s see how many people we can gather at the park that night.  It will be great for Christians to unite under this common purpose.

See you there!

The San Marcos City Council is looking for input for the new Invocation Policy that will be adopted on August 4th, 2009 at City Hall.  If the policy is to be passed it needs support from the city.

Please spread the word to the community to let your voice be heard.  If you are interested in the city council’s continued invocation, then get to the meeting at 7pm on August 4th.

San Marcos City Council votes to continue Prayer

July 8, 2009

Last night the council chambers were PACKED with supporters of prayer.  Probably around 20 citizens spoke out for continuing invocations at council meetings.  One representative of the ACLU spoke out against prayer.  Once the council took up the issue, it took about 5 minutes for them to vote unanimously IN FAVOR of continuing the invocation and having the city attorney draft an official policy for it.

Basically, prayers will be open to all faiths of San Marcos and the prayers can not promote or demote any religion over another.  The mayor said that the council would continue to work with the SMMA to coordinate prayers, but that the city clerk is officially in charge of scheduling those who will pray.

Letter From President Paul Buntyn

May 13, 2009

May 5, 2009

Dear Pastors and Ministers:

I trust this letter will find you all spiritually sound and humbly appreciating the grace of the LORD as He is allowing us to represent Him in the earth. My reason for writing at this time is to share what has been planted in my heart since I accepted the office of President of this fine Association. I believe we are an integral part of all the Lord wants to get done, and realizing that our assignments are strategically placed to penetrate the negative influences that are yet in our society (Ephesians 6:12).  Read the rest of this entry »
